Conversant

The Outlook integration tool enables you to call contacts directly from Outlook 2003 , Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010.

Instructions for setup (Outlook 2003 , Outlook 2007):

1. Open Outlook
2. From the Menu choose Tools > Options ...
3. Click on the Asterisk Dialer tab
4. Enter the following details:
   • Extension: A unique code provided by Conversant
   • Caller id: Leave blank
   • Gateway URL: http://api.conversant.co.nz/originate.php

Instructions for setup (Outlook 2010):

1. Open Outlook
2. From the File menu choose Options
3. Click on Add-Ins
4. Highlight Asterisk Dialer and click on Add-in Options...
5. Enter the following details:
   • Extension: A unique code provided by Conversant
   • Caller id: Leave blank
   • Gateway URL: http://api.conversant.co.nz/originate.php

Instructions for use (Outlook 2003 , Outlook 2007):

1. To retrieve the number to be dialled:
   Either:
   • Click on an email. If the email is from someone in your contacts the number(s) to dial will be retrieved
   • Click on a Contact.
2. In the menu bar you will see the contact listed. Click on the drop-down box to view other contact details
3. Highlight the desired contact and click on Dial
4. Your phone will ring. Answer the call and then the contact’s number will be dialled.

Instructions for use (Outlook 2010):

1. To retrieve the number to be dialled:
   Either:
   • Click on an email. If the email is from someone in your contacts the number(s) to dial will be retrieved
   • Click on a Contact.
2. Click on the Add-Ins tab
3. In the menu bar you will see the contact listed. Click on the drop-down box to view other contact details
4. Highlight the desired contact and click on Dial
5. Your phone will ring. Answer the call and then the contact’s number will be dialled.

Technical information:

The Outlook plug-in communicates with us using standard HTTP on port 80. Data transferred is not encrypted.
