Grandstream Devices

Once you have logged in, hover on the 'Accounts' link and select Account 1 > General Settings. Then fill out the credentials below:

  • Account Active: Yes
  • Account Name: Any name
  • SIP Server: Realm or Domain as provided by Conversant
  • Outbound Proxy: Proxy as provided by Conversant
  • SIP transport: UDP
  • SIP User ID: Your Conversant SIP username
  • Authenticate ID: Your Conversant SIP username
  • Password: Your Conversant SIP password
  • Name: Your name
  • Profile ID: Select the appropriate profile as configure earlier
  • Voice Mail UserID: *97

 

Select save and then under the Account 1 > SIP Settings > Basic Settings

 

  • TEL URI: Disabled
  • SIP Registration: Yes
  • Unregister on Reboot: All
  • Register Expiration: 10
  • Reregister before Expiration: 0
  • Local SIP Port: 5060
  • SIP Registration Failure Retry Wait Time: 20
  • SIP T1 Timeout: 0.5 sec
  • SIP T2 Timeout: 4 sec
  • SIP Transport: UDP
  • SIP URI Scheme When Using TLD: sips
  • Use Actual Ephemeral Port: No

Click Save and Apply for all settings to take affect.

 

  1. The Grandstream IP phone must first be configured to operate with your network. If your LAN has a DHCP server then the phone will automatically obtain an IP address.
  2. If your phone was configured using DHCP then the IP address can be found by pressing the following keys on the keypad Menu > Down arrow > Menu.
  3. Once the phone has an IP address you can complete the configuration process via a web browser. Simply direct your browser to the ip address of the phone e.g. http://192.168.0.12 and enter the phone password. The default password is 'admin'.
  4. Once you have logged in, click on the 'BASIC SETTINGS' link and check the following settings:
    • Time Zone - set as appropriate
    • Daylight Savings Time - set as appropriate
    • Date Display Format - set as appropriate
  5. Click on the Update button
  6. Click on the 'ADVANCED SETTINGS' link and check the following settings:
    • SIP Server - as advised by Conversant
    • Outbound Proxy - as advised by Conversant
    • SIP User ID - The User ID you provided when activating your Conversant account.
    • Authenticate password - The password you provided when setting up your Conversant account.
    • Name - Your name
    • NAT Traversal - Yes
    • STUN server - stun.fwdnet.net:3478
    • NTP server - time.nist.gov
  7. After entering all of the required setting click 'Update' at the bottom of the page then 'Basic Settings' to return to the configuration page and then click 'Reboot' for your changes to take effect.
  8. When the phone restarts a small black square should appear in the top left of the phone's LCD screen - this may take up to 1 minute to appear. This Icon indicates that you phone has successfully registered. If it doesn't appear recheck all of the settings and try again. Otherwise contact Conversant support.

 

The Grandstream GXW must first be configured to enable access using the web interface via the WAN port. To do this:

 

  • Connect an analogue phone to one of the phone ports
  • Take the phone off-hook and dial ***
  • Enter option 12
  • Enter 9 to toggle between enabled and disabled. Ensure the option is enabled.

 

If your phone was configured using DHCP then the IP address can be found by doing the following:

  • Connect an analogue phone to one of the phone ports
  • Take the phone off-hook and dial ***
  • Enter option 02
  • Note the IP address that is read back

 

Once the device has an IP address you can complete the configuration process via a web browser. Simply direct your browser to the ip address of the device e.g.http://192.168.0.12 and enter the phone password. The default password is 'admin'.

  • Time Zone - set as appropriate
  • Daylight Savings Time - set as appropriate
  • Click on the Update button.

 

Click on either the 'Profile 1' or 'Profile 2' tab and enter the following details:

  • Profile Active: Yes
  • NAT Traversal (STUN): Yes
  • Primary SIP Server: As provided by Conversant
  • Outbound Proxy: As provided by Conversant
  • SIP transport: UDP
  • Preferred DTMF Method Priority 1: RFC2833
  • Preferred DTMF Method Priority 2: In-audio
  • Preferred DTMF Method Priority 3: SIP INFO
  • Caller ID Scheme: Bellcore/Telcordia
  • Remove OBP from Route Header: Yes (required for C-Lite 2.0)
  • Click on the Update button.

 

Click on the 'FXS Ports' tab and enter the following details:

  • SIP User ID: Your Conversant SIP username
  • Authenticate ID: Your Conversant SIP username
  • Password: Your Conversant SIP password
  • Name: Your name
  • Profile ID: Select the appropriate profile as configure earlier
  • Click on the Update button.

 

Click on the 'ADVANCED SETTINGS' tab and enter the following details:

  • STUN server - stun.fwdnet.net:3478
  • NTP server - time.nist.gov
  • Click on the Update button. Click 'Basic Settings' to return to the configuration page and then click 'Reboot' for your changes to take effect.

The Grandstream HandyTone must first be configured to operate with your network.

Connect the HandyTone to your computer through the LAN port, and the HandyTone to your network through the WAN port. If your LAN has a DHCP server then the HandyTone will automatically obtain an IP address. If not, then the IP address must be setup using a phone connected to the device. Please refer to here for more information on configuring the IP address.

  • If your phone was configured using DHCP then the IP address can be found by connecting a phone to the device, picking up the receiver, pressing the green button on the device and then entering '02' into the telephone: the IP address will be read out.
  • Once the device has an IP address you can complete the configuration process via a web browser. Simply direct your browser to the ip address of the device e.g. http://192.168.0.12 and enter the phone password. The default password is 'admin'.

 

  • Time Zone - set as appropriate
  • Daylight Savings Time - set as appropriate
  • Click on the Update button

 

FXS Port:

  • SIP Server - as advised by Conversant
  • Outbound Proxy - as advised by Conversant
  • SIP User ID - The User ID you provided when activating your Conversant account.
  • Authenticate password - The password you provided when setting up your Conversant account.
  • Name - Your name

 

General Misc. Settings:

  • NAT Traversal - Yes
  • STUN server - stun.fwdnet.net:3478
  • NTP server - time.nist.gov

After entering all of the required settings click 'Update' at the bottom of the page then 'Basic Settings' to return to the configuration page and then click 'Reboot' for your changes to take effect.
When the Handytone restarts the button on its front should flash red initially and then after about 30s should stop flashing. If it continues flashing the device has not registered - recheck all of the settings and try again. Otherwise contact Conversant support.
